Tua Forsström (b. 1947) is one of the most important contemporary Swedish-speaking poets, in both Finland and Sweden. Mutta kuvittelin että sydän ei tunne rajoja (“But I Thought the Heart Knows No Limits”) is a collection of Forsström’s unique and brilliant poems. This book of poems translated by Caj Westerberg includes the poetry collections Mineraler (Söderstöms, 2003) and Sånger (Söderströms, 2006). Rain, light and darkness come together in Forsström’s poems and create images of missing homes and dreams. Forsström’s poems are magical in a very direct and special way. The poetic and primitive visions contrast with the tangible objects and events of everyday life.
